Project Ideas and Mentors
If you’re interested in research but don’t know where to begin, you can get some ideas by checking these tools and sites:
- Browse past student projects to see mentors, research programs and project titles from recent years.
- Explore possible faculty mentors and areas of research on the Division of Biology and Biological Sciences (DBBS) website, which describes the division’s doctoral programs in a dozen scientific areas and includes a list of division faculty.
- Check each academic department’s website to see faculty work and interests.
- Browse faculty research profiles and basic science labs.
And remember: Thousands of faculty members are available to mentor you, but not all are included on these websites and lists. Dean Chung can point out PIs and projects that you may not otherwise find, so if you haven’t already, contact us to schedule a meeting with Dean Chung.
Meet with Dean Chung to review research opportunities and discuss the best match for your goals, schedule and interests.
